Thames Steamers Limited operates the Victorian Steam Passenger Vessel ‘Alaska’, which was built at Bourne End in 1883.
This beautiful steam launch has been beautifully restored and is maintained to the highest standards. She still has her original steam engine and a coal fired boiler, which propel her silently and effortlessly through the water. ‘Alaska’ is licensed to carry 36 passengers and a full range of catering and a high quality wines is available. ‘Alaska’ normally operates between March and November, generally providing private and corporate charter trips; however, she does occasionally run short public trips at festivals and on Bank holiday weekends; details of public tripping days are posted on the web site and in the local press nearer to the time.
For fully catered events a maximum of 24 passengers is recommended, but if your event is un-catered or you are only having canapés or drinks, then the full compliment of 36 is possible. |
