A unique part of Britain’s maritime heritage, the award winning coal-fired paddle steamer Kingswear Castle was built in 1924. Still powered by her reciprocating steam engine, which can be seen through a viewing gallery on deck, Kingswear Castle offers various cruises from her base at the Historic Dockyard Chatham and from Rochester.
Afternoon cruises sail down river past Upnor Castle to the Napoleonic Forts at Hoo and Darnet Ness or up river to the village of Wouldham. Day trips run to a variety of destinations including the Thames Estuary, Southend, Whitstable, Sheerness, The Swale, New Hythe and through the backwaters of the River Medway. Evening cruises include Jazz Jamborees and Forties Nights.
There are two saloons below deck, one with a bar serving hot and cold drinks and light refreshments. See our website or ask for a leaflet for the full details of the trips, group and charter rates. |
